Good day,

I’d like to thank everyone who has agreed to participate in the upcoming 2nd Annual Anacostia Watershed Citizens’ Stormwater Summit. At this point the Stormwater Summit, scheduled for March 22 at the University of Maryland, is only 2 ½ weeks away! If you haven’t, you need to start identifying your Subwatershed group members who are attending, as well as thinking about possibly inviting up to 4 additional guests (see Deadline 2 below). Please provide email and mailing addresses for all of the group members and guests who are attending the Summit from your shed by COB on March 14th.

Once again, thank you very much for working with us to make the summit as successful as possible. Feel free to contact John Galli (202-962-3348, jgalli@mwcog.org) or myself (202-962-3233, amaynard@mwcog.org) with questions. Also, the summit flier is available for download at http://www.anacostia.net/workshops/sw3_22_08/Flier_Summit_II.pdf .

Have a great day,

Aubin O. Maynard

Environmental Planner III

1. Subwatershed Group Priorities & Accomplishments- Deadline for Information Submission = March 14th- This listing of each Subwatershed group’s top 3 stormwater/restoration related priorities and recommendations, and group accomplishments since the March 24th, 2007 Citizen’s Summit will be used to help frame round table discussions for the Stormwater Summit. Please email your submissions to amaynard@mwcog.org by COB on Friday, March 14th.
2. List and Contact Information for Your Invitees- Deadline = March 14th- Due to the limited space available, each Subwatershed group will only be able to invite 4 of their existing Subwatershed group members and a maximum of 4 additional people. Remember, that since this is the Citizens’ Stormwater Summit these 4 additional invitees should be citizens (not politicians) in your Subwatershed (or the Anacostia Watershed) that your group would like to reach out to. Ideally, these invitees would represent, or have some connection to, citizens in a part of your Subwatershed or the Anacostia your group feels would benefit from attending. Given the limited space available, please think very strategically about whom to invite. Please email your list of 4 subwatershed group members who will attend the summit as soon as you have identified them, to amaynard@mwcog.org by COB on March 14th.
3. 4-5 Minute Power Point Presentations- Deadline = March 18th. Each Subwatershed group representative on the 2 morning panels will have approximately 5 minutes to present perspectives about their subwatershed. PowerPoint presentations, not to exceed 4-5 minutes (10 slides max!) per representative, are encouraged. Send presentations to amaynard@mwcog.org by COB on March 18th. Please note: if you are unable to create a PowerPoint Presentation, but have a few images (not to exceed 10) that you would like to display during your talk, please provide those images to amaynard@mwcog.org by March 13th.
4. Display Materials- DEADLINE = March 22nd 8:00 am – Remember that each Subwatershed group will have space to set up an information display at the Summit. Please let COG staff know by March 18th at the absolute latest if you need any help with printing, etc. for your display. The earlier that you notify us, the better, and please be reasonable with your requests.
